But after the shedding came the move- another bit of trauma. We survived, and the Lord provided a nice place even further out in the country. Our first evening in the house brought a welcoming committee of a half dozen deer, residents in the 40 acres of woods surrounding our property. We have come to enjoy our new communities of Mt Gilead and Cardington.

Life in the country

Through the Lord’s blessing, we were able to build a home

in the country, between Delaware and Marion. Now we’re

enjoying the Cardington rural area!

We lived there for 20 years. Our kids graduated high school from there, and launched their own lives. Oma, Opa, the dogs Bentley and Bo all managed to keep busy! While there Stan served on the Radnor Volunteer Fire Department. On warm summer days, we could be found lazing around the pool. We love living in the country - away from the noise and crowds of a city. But as our immediate family reduced to just Standi, it was time to “downsize” and find something smaller. That created some turmoil as we tossed years of accumulated “stuff”.

Our two (New) Boys - Bo and Bentley

We have had wonderful animals! When we first finished the property, we had Scooter, a wonderful red-toned Golden. She was old at the time, and only got to spend the first year or so with us. Then we got two boys as young puppies - and we had some fun! Buster and Boomer were our long-term companions, playing with the kids, sounding the alarm when someone came in the drive, and generally loving us! Summer of 2016, our two boys were gone. But at the same time we said good bye one of our neighbors and fellow firefighters just happened to be the proud parents of a little of little pups - Berna-doodles with a Lab father. We couldn’t resist, and two of the little fluff-ball puppies soon were making their presence known in our country home! They’re growing and learning!
